Depart by motorcoach to Bradley Airport for your flights to New Orleans. Check in at your home for 4 nights, the Hampton Inn & Suites which is centrally located right nearby to the French Quarter. Welcome Dinner at Deanie’s Seafood.
After breakfast we will enjoy a wonderful City Tour of New Orleans taking in three centuries of history! Highlights include the world famous French Quarter & historic Jackson Square, view the stately mansions of the world famous exclusive Garden District. You’ll see City Park and get to visit one of the historic cemeteries learning about this unique above ground burial system. Tour will end at the French Market for free time to have lunch on own and shop. Enjoy a special evening at The Original Cajun Restaurant, Mulates. Dine on authentic Cajun cuisine & be entertained by live Cajun music!
After breakfast, we head off for Mardi Gras World. Here, you’ll get an overview of the history of Mardi Gras in New Orleans before the guides take you through the float den, where the artists work year-round to build spectacular floats and props. You never get this close to the floats while they’re rolling in Mardi Gras parades, and this is certainly the only place to see how these amazing pieces come to life each year. Then we are off to the spectacular Oak Alley Plantation, one of the most famous and photographed plantations. It is a testimony to the rich history of the antebellum south. Enjoy a tour and lunch at this spectacular Plantation. Tonight we will enjoy a cooking class and dinner at the world famous New Orleans School of Cooking.
We depart after breakfast for our morning tour of Honey Island Swamp for an authentic swamp tour and bayou cruise. Tour the incredible National WWII Museum which tells the story of the American experience in the war that changed the world - why it was fought, how it was won, and what it means today - so all generations will understand the price of freedom and be inspired by what they learn. Farewell Dinner at the Court of Two Sisters! Don’t forget to try a Mint Julep!
After breakfast we transfer to New Orleans Airport for your return flight home!
