Visit the OLYMPIC CENTER AND MUSEUM and experience the exhibit “Totally 80” - memorabilia from the 1980 games, see the ice rinks where gold medals were won and the arena where the “Miracle on Ice” game was played. 2 nights accommodations at the BRAND NEW GRAND ADIRONDACK HOTEL. ROOFTOP WELCOME RECEPTION marks our arrival (weather permitting) before dinner.

Day 2

Experience the Gilded Age in the ADIRONDACKS today. Discover more than 200 years of Adirondack history at the ADIRONDACK MUSEUM. Explore the exhibits, watch a craftsman at work and stroll the gardens. Learn the history of the region and enjoy a LUNCH CRUISE while you go by the wilderness estates of industrial giants. During the Gilded Age of the late 1800s, wealthy tycoons such as Alfred G. Vanderbilt and Andrew Carnegie built wilderness estates and lived luxuriously in the remote wilderness. Marvel at the rustic elegance enjoyed by the Vanderbilt family on our tour of the GREAT CAMP SAGAMORE. View the bark-covered guest buildings, the famous main lodge, dining hall and playhouse where the Vanderbilts entertained their guests. Return to Lake Placid to stroll Main Street for dinner on own.

Day 3

We depart Lake Placid and experience the history of America with a visit to FORT TICONDEROGA, an 18th century fort located on the shores of Lake Champlain and nestled between New York’s Adirondack Mountains and Vermont’s Green Mountains. March to the beat of drums, become immersed in life at the fort and savor the historic gardens. Visit to LAKE GEORGE VILLAGE for lunch and shopping before we head for home with memories of our trip to the Great Adirondack Mountains.
