Itinerary
Day 1
Depart aboard our deluxe motorcoach for Gettysburg, PA. The magic of this small town shines especially bright during the holiday season and twinkles with holiday cheer. 2 nights accommodations at the BEST WESTERN GETTYSBURG adjacent to the historic battlefields. Welcome dinner tonight at the HICKORY BRIDGE FARM RESTAURANT, a charming historic barn where homemade favorites are served family-style. We will have a SPECIAL VISIT from PRESIDENT ABE LINCOLN.
Day 2
A visit to Gettysburg would not be complete without a RIDING TOUR OF THE BATTLEFIELD with our local guide. Learn about the largest battle ever fought on the continent, see where Lincoln delivered his Gettysburg Address. Visit the MUSEUM AND VISITORS CENTER at the Gettysburg National Military Park to view the inspiring film “A New Birth of Freedom” and the 1884 Cyclorama, a mammoth painting-in-the-round. Early dinner at the CARRIAGE HOUSE INN RESTAURANT before our CANDLELIGHT CHRISTMAS TOUR OF THE SHRIVER HOUSE. Take a step back in time and enter the 19th century home of the Shriver family, one of the wealthiest families in town, and see how the family prepared for the upcoming Christmas holidays and learn the stories of their five Christmases in their home.
Day 3
This morning we head to Bethlehem known as the Christmas City, to visit the CHRISTKINDLMARKT, one of the top holiday markets in the world. Featuring aisles of handmade works by the nation’s finest artisans, live holiday music and delicious food… be sure to bring along your Christmas shopping list to find some unique gifts. We head for home this afternoon with warm holiday memories of our time in Gettysburg and Bethlehem.
