Itinerary
Day 1
Depart aboard our deluxe motorcoach as we head north to the mountain village of Bethel, Maine. Spend 2 nights at the beautiful SUNDAY RIVER RESORT. Welcome dinner is included at the hotel. We’ll end our day gathering by the CAMPFIRE TO ENJOY MAKING S’MORES (weather permitting). A delicious way to end our day.
Day 2
We’ll visit the Bethel Outdoor Adventure Center for you to try your hand at SLUICING for your very own special, rare mineral. This region is rich in minerals such as tourmaline and rose quartz. You never know what you’ll find and anything you find, you can keep! Explore the MAINE MINERAL AND GEM MUSEUM, featuring mineral specimens and gemstones that tell the story of Maine’s mining history, along with rare meteorite specimens from the moon and Mars! Dinner in the hotel tonight before we meet our local moose naturalist and board our bus for a 2 hour MOOSE SAFARI in search of those elusive, magnificent creatures. (Please understand that moose like all animals can be unpredictable and there is no guarantee of seeing a moose)
Day 3
After breakfast we depart for North Conway, NH for a ride on the CONWAY SCENIC RAILWAY with beautiful views of the White Mountains. We return home with wonderful memories of our Maine getaway.
