Itinerary
Day 1
Depart aboard our deluxe motorcoach as we begin our tour with a visit to NEW YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN to enjoy the annual Orchid Show, the country’s premier orchid exhibition, showcasing the exquisite shapes, breathtaking colors, and alluring fragrances of one of the world’s most exotic flowers. Time on own here for lunch. After the show, we head to Pennsylvania and our home for two nights at the Mendenhall Hotel for a Welcome Reception and Dinner. D
Day 2
We’re of to the fabled & one of the worlds greatest gardens, LONGWOOD GARDENS, founded by Pierre S Dupont, one of the worlds greatest gardens. When visiting Longwood Gardens, you are immersed not only in the breathtaking surroundings but in a rich history as well. The traditions and elegance of the gardens have evolved over decades to create the magnificence we have today. Step back in time to learn about these important cultural events and their contributions. We will enjoy a guided tour which will show us some of the revitalization of the 17 acre Conservatory and grounds which has made ‘Longwood Reimagined: A New Garden Experience’. Stunning new buildings, wonderous new indoor and outdoor gardens and much more await us! Time on own for lunch and to see more of the gardens. There is also the option to leave Longwood and visit the BRANDYWINE RIVER MUSEUM and all the Wyeth paintings. Tonight dinner is at the Columbus Inn before returning to the hotel. B, D
Day 3
Today we head to Philadelphia. The highlight of the trip, the fabulous 198th PHILADELPHIA FLOWER SHOW, the nation’s largest and longest-running horticultural event and features stunning displays by the world’s premier floral and landscape designers. Come celebrate the 200th Birthday of the Penn Horticultural Society. Sure to be some birthday displays! Don’t forget the spectacular Marketplace with 100’s of vendors. We depart for home with great ideas for our gardens and memories of these great shows! Rest & Dinner stop. B
